“Life gives you only what you can handle.”

It has been an adjustment teaching and being an administrator of the park all at the same time, but having the time to be in the park and  clear my mind has allowed me to focus mindfully on each job.    The trails are beginning to be sprinkled with golden pine needles and brown and yellow leaves.  Having the chance to walk the paths in Kalmbach daily, one would think that I should be able to memorize what the walk looks like, but each season brings an entirely new look to the park and the trails.  Mums, gourds, and pumpkins welcome visitors as they begin their journey along the start of the path.  The English Walnut and Black Walnut  trees are dropping their nuts along the trail and in the park.  The  Chestnut trees are full of spiked balls ready to explode upon hitting the ground.  Always be on the look- out for dropping nuts while walking…   The weather continues to be summer-like and I am holding onto every bit of this warm sunshine before the cold air comes.  I cannot say if I have a favorite season here at Kalmbach yet, but I can say that every new season has enabled me to love this park more.

See you along the path…
