Come one, come all for an illustrated lecture with
Candace Perry – Curator of the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center,
on the traveling shows that were a staple of entertainment in southeastern Pennsylvania in the nineteenth century. Several show people who would eventually become national names had their start here in the little villages of Lehigh and Berks Counties. These shows were a far cry from the circuses the twentieth century, but local people loved them and flocked to them.
